How to Delete Your Account

We respect your right to control your personal data. Follow the steps below to request deletion of your Purpose app account and all associated data.

Send a Deletion Request Email

Email us at support@purposecareerapp.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"

Include Your Account Information

In your email, include the email address associated with your Purpose app account so we can locate your data

Verification

We will send a verification email to confirm your identity and deletion request

Account Deletion

Once verified, your account and data will be permanently deleted within 30 days

Request Account Deletion

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

Data Type	Status	Details
Account Information	Deleted	Name, email address, profile data
Assessment Responses	Deleted	All career assessment answers and results
Career Recommendations	Deleted	Personalized career suggestions and saved results
Preferences & Settings	Deleted	App preferences, location settings, saved searches
Payment Records	Retained*	Transaction records (required by law)

Important Note About Payment Records

*Payment transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations and tax laws. These records are stored securely by our payment processor (Stripe) and include only transaction details, not your personal assessment data.

Deletion Timeline

Processing Time

Your account deletion request will be processed within 30 days of verification. You will receive email confirmation once deletion is complete.

What Happens After Deletion

You will lose access to all career assessment results and recommendations
Any purchased access will be permanently revoked
You will need to create a new account and repurchase access to use the app again
Deleted data cannot be recovered

Alternative: Delete Local Data Only

If you only want to clear data stored on your device without deleting your account:

Open Device Settings

Go to your phone's Settings app

Find Purpose App

Navigate to Apps > Purpose

Clear App Data

Tap "Clear Data" or "Clear Storage" to remove all local data

Note: This only clears data on your device. To fully delete your account and server data, please use the email request process above.
